2022 Update on the changes Australian Standards that all welding
personnel need to know
AS/NZS Welding Standards are critical for the Australian landscape
and those in it need to know what are the standards that are required and what
are on the horizon so that you and your business are not left behind.
In this Information session, we go over what have been the changes
and revisions to any AS/NZS welding-related standards in the last 12 months
including some background on why those changes were made.

The
meeting has been designed for Welding Supervisors, Managers, Engineers, and
those who use, or should be using, any welding-related standard.
About
the Session
This
session will focus on discussing various Australian Standard that impacts the
welding industry in Australia, how they are relevant and how they impact the
industry. There will also be information on the Standards policies and
requirements and their influence on the revision process. Learn about the
process of how a Standard is revised and how you can get involved, the public
review process and more. This is your opportunity to find out how you and
your business are placed to meet the requirement.
This
session will focus on discussing various Australian Standard that impact the
welding industry in Australia, how they are relevant and how they impact the
industry. They include:
· Revision of welding consumable standards
· Revision
of pressure equipment standards e.g. AS1796, AS3992, AS3788.
· Revision
of structural standards e.g. AS/NZS1554 series, AS/NZS2214, AS/NZS1665
· Revision of health and safety standards e.g. AS1674.1
· Aged
standards update e.g. AS/NZS1554.6
· ISO
update e.g. ISO 14731, AS/NZS ISO 3834 series, ISO 9606.
There
will also be information on the Standards policies and requirements and their
influence on the revision process. Learn about the process of how a Standard is
revised and how you can get involved, the public review process and more.
The
session will conclude with the presentation of an innovative tool to assist
standards users to identify standards applicable to their work.
About
the Presenter
Mr. Bruce Cannon
is a Principal Welding Engineer and Technical Publications Manager with Weld
Australia. He is also the Chair of Standards Australia Committee WD-003 and has
represented Australia at ISO meetings, including the current revision of ISO
9606-1. This is your chance to hear all Standards from an expert in the field.
