About the event
Please note that this event is being run by the
Weld Australia NSW State Committee and is a Face-to-Face event in Blacktown,
NSW.
Opportunity to both see and apply the latest stud
and resistance welding processes available for manufacturing, Construction, Mining and Minerals and Defence.
Member’s survey supports the re-introduction of
face-to-face events.
Opportunity for members to interact and see welding
processes to the recently changed AS/NZS 1554.2 standard.
The event will highlight the broad range of
applications for stud welding beginning with the use of Capacitor Discharge
welding of pins, clips & cupheaded pins for the insulation industry. It
will also cover various applications for Drawn Arc Welding stud welding from
threaded studs in the manufacturing sectors of shipbuilding and defence through
to shear connectors used in bridge beam and through deck welding for composite
deck construction.
The presentation will also demonstrate Soyers
patented SRM (Radial Symmetrical Magnetic Field) technology which now
enables welds at a sheet thickness ratio of 1:10 instead of 1:4. Stud welding
can provide significant improvements in productivity based on the speed of the
welding process with capacities of up to 10 studs per minute and can be
automated for a broad range of manufacturing applications. Attendees will be
able to view demonstrations of the various technologies and get the opportunity
to fire studs themselves in order to better understand the technology and its
various applications.
