About the role
As the Industrial Welding Equipment Specialist, you will
act as the technical bridge between real-world welding applications and product
strategy, supporting the growth and development of WIA’s industrial equipment
portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.
This opportunity sits within the Infrastructure sector and is a full-time, on-site position based in Adelaide, SA.
Key responsibilities
Product & Equipment Expertise Act as the subject
matter expert (SME) across industrial welding equipment including engine-driven
welders, industrial MIG platforms, advanced industrial welding solutions, and
emerging welding technologies. Support the full product lifecycle — from market
insight and field validation through to launch, training and ongoing
performance improvement. Provide technical guidance on applications, compliance
considerations and local market requirements. Market & Customer Insight
Engage with customers across mining, heavy fabrication, onsite maintenance and
rental sectors to understand application challenges and emerging industry
trends. Capture Voice of Customer (VoC) feedback and translate field insights
into product improvements, positioning and future roadmap opportunities.
Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends and equipment developments within
the industrial welding landscape. Product Development & Strategy Support
Support development and execution of industrial product roadmaps aligned with
business growth objectives. Collaborate with global ITW Welding teams and OEM
partners to ensure ANZ market needs are represented in product planning and
development. Assist with evaluation of new technologies, field trials and
product introductions into the local market. Technical Enablement &
Collaboration Work closely with sales, technical and marketing teams to provide
product knowledge, application support and technical training. Support key
customer engagements, demonstrations and technical discussions to strengthen
WIA’s industrial equipment positioning. Contribute to internal product
education and help drive consistent technical messaging across the business.
Commercial & Performance Support Analyse product performance, pricing and
market data to support informed decision-making. Assist with business case
development, product positioning and go-to-market execution for industrial
equipment initiatives. Ensure product offerings align with compliance, safety
and operational requirements relevant to ANZ industries.
About you
Strong knowledge of welding processes (MMAW, GMAW, GTAW,
FCAW) with practical exposure to industrial welding equipment. Experience
within welding, metal fabrication, mining, heavy engineering or industrial
manufacturing environments. Background as a Technical Sales Representative,
Application Specialist, Welding Equipment Specialist or similar industrial
technical role is highly regarded. Exposure to engine-driven welders,
industrial MIG platforms or advanced industrial welding solutions will be
advantageous. Ability to translate field applications and customer needs into
practical technical and commercial outcomes. Strong communication skills with
the ability to work collaboratively across sales, technical teams and global
product groups. Trade qualification in welding/fabrication or tertiary
engineering qualification; strong industry experience highly valued.
