About the role
Victorian Testing & Inspection Services (VTS) are seeking a Test Technician / Machinist for our Tullamarine branch. VTS provides inspection and testing services to the power, oil, gas and the construction and fabrication industry. The position is primarily workshop based and involves sample preparation, machining, testing of samples and reporting.
Required Duties and relevant experience:
- General knowledge of welding processes and materials
- Basic technical knowledge of machining, fitting and turning etc.
- Able to follow work procedures and follow and interpret codes and standards
- Knowledge and/or experience in testing, inspection, NDT, engineering etc. would be an advantage
- Punctual, reliable, able to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Have own reliable transport
- Possess intermediate (or higher) computer skills
- Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety procedures

- Interpret drawings, specifications, procedures or quality requirements relevant to the role.
- Maintain strong safety, quality and documentation practices throughout the work.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, inspectors, trades and project teams to deliver reliable outcomes.
