About the role
JRS Manufacturing Group are on the hunt for a Welding Coordinator to work collaboratively with the planning and production teams to deliver excellence to customers through innovation, quality, and compliance.
A key driver to the overall success of JRS, the Welding Coordinator will have extensive manufacturing experience, a hunger for growth, and the proven ability to implement continual improvement methods and practices.

This opportunity sits within the Maritime sector and is a full-time, on-site position based in Toowoomba & Darling Downs, QLD.
Key responsibilities
• Review scope of works and monitor progress to ensure they conform with company processes, contract specifications, are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates
• Assess and inspect quality of workmanship and completion of tasks in accordance with the Quality Management System and all other Company/Client Contract guidance processes, procedures, and documentation in collaboration with the QWHSE Advisor
• Liaise with the Workshop Lead and Mentor & Quality Control Leads to ensure workshop personnel are working in accordance with relevant standards and procedures in a safe and productive manner while identifying requirements for upskilling
• Comply, align, and maintain people qualification processes and practices that are fit for purpose and deliver to customer specifications in accordance with ISO 9606.1
• Interpret drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine product or job instructions, specifications, and viability
• Working with the Quality & WHSE Advisor and Workshop Lead on final inspection and control of records and traceability of welds
• Defend and champion our industry and our people supporting Australia’s’ sovereign manufacturing future
• Develop, maintain, and model a culture that is open to change and innovation, and supports collaboration, respect, and accountability
• Operate in an egoless manner within a high performing team that focuses on leading together in the best interest of our customers
• Exhibit enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards career development of subordinates by identifying areas of strength, and weakness with a ‘win together’ mindset in liaison with team members
About you
• AS2214 Welding Supervisors Certification
• AS1796 Cert 10 Welding Supervisors Certification or the desire to obtain
• International Welding Specialist (IWS) Certification or the desire to obtain
• Demonstrate an understanding of ISO, AS/NZS, ASME & AWS.
• Demonstrate an understanding of ISO 14731:2019(E)
• Trade Certificate III Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Heavy Fabrication)
• First Aid & CPR - Desirable
• Mental Health First Aid Training - Desirable
